Students need to feel safe to be able to learn. Boulder Valley School District is committed to the safety and security of each of the more than 30,000 students and staff using our facilities each day.
Message from the Superintendent
Security Department
The Security Department for the Boulder Valley School District operates 24 hours a day year round, including weekends and holidays. Security agents patrol schools after hours and on weekends.

School-wide Safety and Security
Mitigation and Prevention: Hazard identification and assessment, prevent or reduce the impact of a crisis.
Preparedness: On-going practice and drills
Response: Maintain trained Crisis Response Teams at the school and district levels which work with Public Emergency Response Agencies
Recovery: Restore the infrastructure of the school and return to normal operations as soon as possible.
The plan provides staff with procedures to follow before, during and after a crisis situation and provide processes for effective and appropriate communication to maintain student and staff safety.

Personal Safety
BVSD provides a number of resources and programs aimed at protecting student personal safety and preventing children and youth from initiating or engaging in harmful behaviors.
Bullying negatively impacts the academic, emotional, and physical wellbeing of students. All people are negatively impacted when bullying is a problem in school, including targets, kids who bully, bystanders, and school staff.

Safe2Tell
Safe2Tell® provides young people a way to report any threatening behaviors or activities endangering themselves or someone they know, in a way that keeps them safe and anonymous.
The "I Love U Guys" Foundation was created to restore and protect the joy of youth through educational programs and positive actions in collaboration with families, schools, communities, organizations and government entities.
