In spring 2010 the Boulder Valley Board of Education launched a new process for engaging with the community. Six pilot sessions were held in communities throughout the district: three on Saturday, Feb. 20, and three on Saturday, April 17. Each of the pilot sessions was attended by at least one board member and moderated by someone not employed by BVSD. The groups were each a mixture of stakeholders including parents, community members, BVSD staff and BVSD graduates. They discussed various aspects of student success such as how it is defined and measured. Overall feedback from participants was positive. For details about the community engagement project, please see the documents posted below.
If you would like to participate in a future community engagement session, please email email@example.com. Also, we are in need of volunteers to serve as moderators for these sessions. If that is a role in which you would be interested, let us know and we will invite you to the next training.
